The Lost Boys is an 80's horror film that for once, made vampires look "cool" instead of horrifying bloodsuckers. The movie takes place in a fictional version of Santa Cruz known as Santa Carla. The leader of the vampire pack, David, was no other than Kiefer Sutherland who had a unique gothic outfit throughout the whole movie. The rest of his gang would wreak havoc and party all night. What made the group unique compared to most teenage vampires, is how they didn't attend school and acted as stylish bad boys which grabbed the attention of teenage girls during the era. Their hideout also looks oddly like a pirate's cave covered in candles, jewels, and a towering poster of Jim Morrison. For many, it may look creepy and the last place you'd want to stay, but for teenagers, at the time it was appealing and gave off a cool vibe.

David and his gang end up tricking one of the good main characters known as Michael (Jason Patric) into blood disguised as wine which turns him into a half-vampire. Michaels begins to feel the dreaded effects and his little brother Sam (Corey Haim) becomes very suspicious. Sam ends up consulting two friends he met at a local comic book shop near the boardwalk known as Alan Frog (Jamison Newlander) and Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman). The Frog brothers convince Sam his brother and David's groups are vampire's and they begin to hatch a plan to solve it.

Another idea that sets this movie apart is how David and his gang never had any worries. They stayed up all night, partied, drank, and would fly around in the night without a care in the world. It's relatable for many viewers to understand during those teenage and young adult years you have no thoughts about the future. In those short years, you feel infinite, without a single care in the world except what's happening now. The movie portraits a feeling most can resonate with making it an all-time classic.
