House of Wax is a horror directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. This movie is a remake of the original and follows six teenagers as they make their way to a football game. We follow Carly (Elisha Cuthbert), Nick (Chad Michael Murray), Wade (Jared Padaleki), Dalton (Jon Abrahams), Paige (Paris Hilton), and Blake (Robert Richard). In the beginning, the group makes a stop for the night to camp and let loose. During which they end up smelling something rancid in the distance are met with mysterious headlights from a truck towards the woods. As the group sleeps the viewer is greeted with a creepy POV of someone watching them all. In the morning Wade finds out he had his car fan belt broken so they all must go to the nearest town. The group gets word from a local that Ambrose is the nearest town by so Wade and Carly hitch a ride with him.

Once they arrive in Ambrose the couple realizes how oddly empty it is. The small town is a complete ghost town with not a soul in sight. The gas station is empty so they both head to the local church where they find Bo the mechanic. He agrees to help out after the service and in the meantime, Wade and Carly find their way to the House of Wax.

The house is literally made of wax and is home to tons of posing wax sculptures. The overall feel is incredibly creepy and the whole concept makes the viewer unsettling. The town freaks everyone out and it's not before long the characters find out the statues in the museum are real victims. The beginning like many horror movies is rather slow but it makes up for it with its high-paced ending and overall chilling feeling. The soundtrack is also worth noting on as there are many great rock songs scattered throughout.
