My name is Anthony Pritts and I am currently a senior at Slippery Rock University. I've decided to take New-Media Journalism because it goes hand in hand with my major and what I plan on doing in the future. My major is Communications Converged Journalism with a minor in Business Administration. In my field, writing is an essential key to just about every situation I'll encounter. I'm currently trying my best to build my portfolio with as many news articles and commercial scripts as I can to hopefully one day impress my employer down the line. Reading and especially writing has always been a huge interest of mine so when I chose this major I felt extremely relaxed. I remember never feeling comfortable in any class except literature growing up so I feel right at home.
The world of journalism interests me a lot because it has evolved so much in recent times. In today's world we receive our news within seconds which makes it exceedingly hard to compete with news or radio stations. There are many loyal newspaper readers out there but the majority have switched to digital which has been ruling the world as of late. I definitely consider myself more interested in the simpler things of life but the ability to interact with articles through videos or virtual reality is rather fascinating.
I went ahead and named my blog "The Reel World '', as cliché as it may sound I believe it describes myself and what I enjoy. Growing up watching old films with my mom was an everyday thing, despite nobody else in the house enjoying them as much. As far as music goes I grew up on binging my dad's CD collection with my cheap disc player and my awful headphones that barely fit my head. I plan on writing mostly about some of my favorite oldie films but also touching on horror and thrillers. I'm also looking forward to talking about music artists who I admire.

I used to tweet a ton years ago but haven't really touched the app in some time since I'd rather focus on bettering myself. I do sometimes have a social media presence so if you want to stalk me go ahead and follow me on Facebook and Twitter. When it comes to receiving news I usually check out The New York Times. I'm not an avid user but I enjoy the digital format they offer. I also religiously keep tabs on Food Network. I've been heavily interested in culinary arts and even considered pursuing it rather than going to college. I'm always on the lookout for a new recipe to try so it's my go to almost every other day of the week.
Look out for more posts soon!
